Fire Department Burn Permit Procedures

Dear Resident of Forest Park,

You are required by law to complete a Burn Permit Application and written approval from the Town of Forest Park Fire Department, in order to burn materials on your property. VIOLATORS will be issued a citation. The Fire Department is making every attempt to prevent the spread of grass fires and the dangers of fire to nearby homes. We strongly request that you comply with our local fire ordinances and the Oklahoma Clean Air Act. The Burn Permit Fee is $25.

1. Complete the Burn Permit application online @ forestparkok.gov or in person at the Town Hall and pay the $25 Burn Permit Application fee.

2. Upon approval, a Fire Department representative will contact you to set an appointment for a location inspection. Burn Permits will not be issued by phone. A valid written permit must be on the scene where the burning is taking place.

3. Burn Permits shall only be issued "Two hours after sunrise". Fuels shall not be intentionally added to the fire two hours before sunset. All burning must be extinguished one hour before sunset and at least 50ft from any materials, trees, brushes, etc. The area immediately surrounding the material to be burned must be clearly mowed for 25 feet.
